Liverpool fan and podcaster Mark Baker has been sharing his thoughts on Reds midfielder Fabinho and the weakness he has as a player.

This comes after Baker’s assessment of Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Ajax in the Champions League was featured in the latest episode of the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast.

First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

On the topic of Fabinho, who played the full 90 minutes against the Dutch side in midweek, Baker shared his thoughts on what the midfielder’s weaknesses on the pitch are.

He said: “The problem with Fabinho, I believe is that ability in one v one duels. I feel if you were to expose Fabinho in a one v one against a mobile attacker, I think Liverpool could be in for real problems.

“I think his game revolves around good anticipation, good reading of the game but in terms of foot races and his ability to turn at pace and be mobile enough to manage them areas, I think that could be an issue.”

The Brazilian, who is currently valued at £54 million, has made a total of 88 appearances for the Reds across all competitions since he arrived at the Merseyside club back in the 2018 summer transfer window from AS Monaco.

His latest performance for Liverpool in their win over Ajax saw him play in the centre-back position and ultimately earned himself an impressive match rating of 8.71/10, making him the highest-rated player on the pitch (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts on Mark Baker’s assessment of Fabinho…

Even though Fabinho put in a solid performance against Ajax in midweek, it appears that this hasn’t stopped Baker from sharing what he thinks the Brazilian’s weaknesses are on the pitch.

If Fabinho can continue putting in performances like he did against Ajax, the weaknesses that Baker has highlighted shouldn’t be much a concern going forward.
