Liverpool journalist James Pearce has been sharing some details on the possibility of the Merseyside club making a future transfer move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

This comes after Pearce recently made an appearance on a recent video from Liverpool-themed YouTube channel Anfield Agenda where he spoke about a number of transfer-related topics surrounding the Reds.

First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

On the subject of Sancho, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past and heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, Pearce had this to say on a potential transfer move being made for Sancho in the future from the Reds.

He said: “It’s certainly not on the radar at the moment.

“We know full well that [Jurgen] Klopp’s a massive fan of his but I think it would all depend [on] what happened in that striking department because at the moment it’s so well stocked.

“I would only see Liverpool even contemplating a deal for Sancho in summer 2021 if they were looking to replace a frontline attacker.

“I think it’ll become a talking point, maybe if he does stay put at Dortmund for this season, but I wouldn’t get too excited about that at the moment.”

The 20-year-old, who is currently valued at £105.3 million, signed to the German club back in the 2017 summer transfer window from the Manchester City U18 squad for a fee of £7.05 million.

Since then, the Englishman has made 102 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions in which he has racked up an impressive total of 35 goals and 45 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Sancho was Dortmund’s best player in the Bundesliga last season after earning himself a season rating of 7.64/10 for his performances in the 32 league appearances he made in their 2019/20 campaign.

TIF Thoughts…

It appears that any move for Sancho from Liverpool would only be taking place next summer but according to Pearce, that would be unlikely.

However, given how impressive the winger has been for Dortmund since he arrived in Germany in terms of his goals and assists, you would assume that Sancho would provide a massive attacking threat to any team he plays in.
