Football journalist Andy Dunn has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of Liverpool signing a new goalkeeper before the current transfer window closes.
This comes after Dunn recently made an appearance on a transfer deadline day video from The Daily Mirror’s YouTube channel where he spoke about the latest transfer-related topics in the Premier League at the moment.
Dunn had this to say after being asked if he thinks the Merseyside club need to sign a new backup goalkeeper before the deadline:
“Yes, but is it too late? I think it possibly will be. Who do you go and get out there now? Because you need a top-class ‘keeper to [be Alisson Becker’s] backup.
“I do think, long-term, [Jurgen Klopp] will need a new number-two ‘keeper. Will he get him? Liverpool, as we know, they have the best transfer setup in the business, possibly – they’ll have their work cut out though today to get someone in before 11 o’clock as backup to Alisson.”
Liverpool’s latest Premier League match saw them lose 7-2 to Aston Villa at the weekend.
Adrian played in net during the game for the Reds and ultimately earned himself a poor match rating of 3.83/10 after making a mistake that led to a goal for the home side (per WhoScored).
Should Liverpool sign a new goalkeeper before the transfer deadline?

TIF Thoughts…
Given how poor Adrian was against Villa at the weekend, perhaps it is possible that Liverpool may sign a new shot-stopper to play in Alisson’s absence.
With the transfer window set to close at the end of the day, the Merseyside club will have to get a move on if they do decide to try and sign a new goalkeeper from somewhere.
