A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by Whites fan and journalist James Marshment in which he relayed the alleged news that the Yorkshire-based club is said to be in the race to sign Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Lovro Majer.

This news originated from Italian outlet Calciomercato, where it has been claimed that Leeds, as well as AC Milan, Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Sevilla are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old Croatian, who Calciomercato have claimed is ‘one of the most important talents in Croatian football.’ The £2.07m-rated midfielder is also described as being ‘the new [Luka] Modric’ in this report.

So, how did these Leeds United fans react to Marshment’s tweet relaying this report linking them with a move for Majer?

Some Leeds fans replied to this tweet to indicate that they would like to see the Croatian midfielder move to Elland Road, with one Whites supporter stating that they think Majer is the ‘right player’ for Marcelo Bielsa’s side to target and another Leeds fan calling for there to be some truth in this claim.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

However, not all Leeds supporters were positive about this alleged news, with one Whites fan suggesting that Majer will move to another club instead of Leeds and another Leeds supporter refusing to get their ‘hopes up’ about signing Majer.

Meanwhile, another Leeds fan indicated that they aren’t convinced about the player’s quality in recent years but some other supporters of Leeds replied to Marshment’s post to share some positivity about the player’s quality based on their knowledge of him from the video game ‘Football Manager.’
