Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays news of Barry Douglas’ likely departure from the club.

According to a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Douglas is heading to Ewood Park in order to ‘try and conclude a deal’ which would see him move to Championship side, Blackburn Rovers.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

The report continues by stating that the left-back has ‘found himself down the pecking order in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad’ following two ‘injury-disrupted’ seasons.

And, it has since been claimed that he’s undergoing a medical at Ewood Park.

After Graham Smyth shared this report on Twitter, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their sadness at the prospect of Douglas’ departure.

While these Leeds fans appear sorry to see the defender go, it is hardly surprising that the club have decided to allow the 31-year-old to leave.

Since his £3.06 million move from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2018, Douglas has featured 44 times for the club, having missed a great deal of game time in his first season because of three separate injuries, while, last season, Gjanni Alioski and Stuart Dallas were preferred to Douglas at left-back, with the £1.8 million-rated Scotland international making just six Championship starts for the Whites.

However, despite his failure to nail down a place in the side, it would appear that many Leeds fans are still fond of the 31-year-old, with many more taking to Twitter to share their sadness at his seemingly impending departure from Elland Road.

All in all, while it would appear that the majority of these Leeds fans are sad to see Douglas depart, many also believe that the move is right for both the player and the club, as they feel he will simply not get enough game time if he were to remain at Leeds.
