Many Leeds United supporters have been responding to a social media post from the BBC’s Adam Pope in which he quote-tweeted @btsportfootball‘s clip of a goal scored by the club’s former forward Kemar Roofe in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
Roofe, who played 122 times for the Elland Road club, scoring 33 goals and providing his teammates with 14 assists (as per Transfermarkt) currently plays his football for Rangers.
The Scottish Premiership side travelled to Belgium to take on Standard Liege and after James Tavernier put the visitors in front from the penalty spot (as per BBC Sport), the Jamaican striker scored an outrageous goal from inside his own half after holding off the challenges of multiple defenders.
Pope described the 27-year-old’s strike as ‘some goal’ and it’s sparked quite the response from some of the Leeds supporters.
How have these Leeds fans reacted to Kemar Roofe’s goal in the UEFA Europa League?
The one that shouldnt have been sold.

Such a difficult thing to do that. Only once you’ve tried can you really appreciate the technique required ??

It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters were impressed by the goal Roofe scored during Rangers’ 2-0 victory with one fan suggesting the player ‘shouldn’t have been sold’. The forward left Yorkshire to join Belgian club Anderlecht back in August 2019 (as per Sky Sports) but less than a year later he returned to the United Kingdom, this time north of the border to join the Gers.
