Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been sharing his thoughts on fellow Leeds man Leif Davis.

This comes after Phillips recently made a guest appearance on Leeds-themed podcast Leeds That where he spoke about a number of different topics on the Yorkshire club.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

During the episode, Phillips had this to say on the defender and his future.

He said: “I think one of the players that we haven’t seen much of yet but we will get to see in the future, definitely, is Leif Davis, just because he’s that good of a player if he just settled down a little bit and just screwed his head on a little bit, he’d be up there with one of the best left-backs, left-midfielders, centre-halves that we’ve got.”

The 20-year-old, who is currently valued at £90k, signed to the Yorkshire club back in the 2018 summer transfer window from League Two side Morecambe.

Since then, the defender has gone on to make two appearances for the Leeds U23 side and 12 appearances for the club’s senior side (per Transfermarkt).

So far this season, Davis has only made one appearance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the Premier League when he came on as a substitute during their 1-1 draw against Manchester City earlier this month.

Even though he only came on the pitch in the second half against the Manchester club, Davis managed to have 10 touches of the ball and picked up a pass accuracy percentage of 100% (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts on Phillips’ comments on Davis…

It’s great to hear this confidence and belief that Phillips has in Davis and his abilities on the pitch. Moving forward, it’d be great to see if Davis can take Phillips’ advice and then get himself some more game time for Leeds and become an important player for the club.
