Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which centre-back Diego Llorente reflects on his national team’s recent fixture against Portugal.

Llorente played the full 90 minutes in the fixture that ended 0-0, with the defender stating on Twitter that he was ‘satisfied’ with the game in Lisbon, despite the fact that Spain could not apply ‘the finishing touch’ in the match.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

He continued by stating that he and his side need to now ‘think about the next two’ fixtures in the UEFA Nations League against Switzerland and Ukraine.

In reaction to his post, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many praising the centre-back’s performance in the match, while others claimed that Llorente had Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo in his pocket during the game.

Llorente was one of Marcelo Bielsa’s summer recruits, with the defender moving to Elland Road from Real Sociedad in what was an £18 million deal.

However, the £18 million-rated 27-year-old is yet to make his debut for the club, having been left out of the squad for their 1-0 victory against Sheffield United, while he remained on the bench in their recent 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Despite this fact, many more Leeds fans took to Twitter in reaction to his post, with some claiming that they cannot wait to see the defender pull on a Leeds shirt for the first time, while others simply stated how well they thought the centre-back played against Portugal.

All in all, it would appear that these Leeds fans are delighted with the performance of Llorente in his recent match for Spain, and can’t wait to see him on the pitch for their club.
