Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

As per Transfermarkt, Guaita’s current deal with the South London club is set to expire at the end of the next June but during this recent edition of the FYP Podcast, Sells indicated that the club does have an option to extend the Spaniard’s deal and he went on to reveal that, as he understands it, “some conversations” are set to take place between the Eagles and the 33-year-old goalkeeper in the near future with regard to “extending his stay” at the club beyond that.

Sells said: “We’ve got an exceptional goalkeeper that’s playing in our side at the moment. He took a couple of fantastic crosses on Sunday, in particular, and I think his contract comes to an end with an option for the club but I understand there will be some conversations taking place in the coming weeks or months I would imagine with a view to potentially extending his stay at Selhurst Park.”

TIF Thoughts on what Sells had to say about Guaita’s future…

So, as can be seen in what Sells had to say, it certainly seems as though he is a fan of Guaita and that may not be too surprising, given that the Spaniard has established himself as a ‘firm fans’ favourite’ at Selhurst Park thanks to how he has performed for the Eagles since moving to the club on a free transfer back in the summer of 2018.

With that in mind, Palace fans may be pleased to hear Sells suggest that the £3.6m-rated goalkeeper may be unlikely to leave the club any time soon, with it looking like Palace intend to give him a new deal.

So, it will be interesting to see if some progress is made with regard to Guaita receiving a new Palace contract over the “coming weeks or months” as Sells anticipates.
