On the subject of the January transfer window, Dolan had this to say on the matter.

He said: “I’d be very surprised if we don’t make a big move in January, but it’s very tough, the market is tough and I think as fans, we just don’t really appreciate how hard it is to get a player into the football club. It’s clearly a very, very hard thing.”

Looking back at the previous summer transfer window, Villa spent a total sum of £74.12 million on signing players such as Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash, Emiliano Martinez and Bertrand Traore. The Birmingham club also managed to sign Ross Barkley on a season-long loan deal.

So far this season, Villa have a had a solid start to their 2020/21 Premier League campaign, winning four out of their five played league games so far.

TIF Thoughts on Chris Dolan’s comments on the January transfer window…

Listening to what Dolan had to say in the podcast, he seems to be under the impression that Villa will be active in the window and would be surprised if the club didn’t look to make a “big move” in it.

With there being some time left until the January transfer window opens, this gives Villa enough time to assess their current squad and then make a decision on what business they may need to do when the window opens.
