Aston Villa podcaster Chris Budd has been sharing his thoughts on Villa winger Trezeguet and what he has made of the Egyptian so far this season.
This comes after Budd recently made an appearance on Villa-themed podcast My Old Man Said where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the Birmingham club.
On the topic of Trezeguet, Budd had this to say on the winger.
He said: “You see with Trezeguet, for the listeners who follow him on social media, the videos he was putting up as soon as we went into lockdown, he was doing extra work and fitness work.
“I think he’s fitter, he’s stronger, he’s mentally sharper, I think he’s probably settled in the city and he’s happier here now.
“I’m sure he’s improved with things like the language and the culture which can only help.”
Villa signed Trezeguet in the 2019 summer transfer window from Turkish club Kasimpasa for a fee of £9 million.
In his first season at Villa, the winger made a total of 41 appearances for the club in which he managed to score seven goals and provide three assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Overall, Trezeguet, who is currently valued at £7.2 million was given a season rating of 6.59/10 for his performances in the 34 Premier League appearances he made for Villa last year.
In Villa’s recent 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League earlier in the week, Trezeguet earned himself a solid match rating of 7.52/10 for his performance at Craven Cottage.

It’s great to hear that Budd thinks that Trezeguet has worked on himself in recent weeks and months in terms of his fitness and settling in at the club.
His performance against Fulham earlier in the week showed that he is capable of putting in a good shift for Villa in the Premier League.
Hopefully, the winger can continue putting in decent performances for Dean Smith’s side throughout the rest of the current campaign.
