Host Matt Davies was joined by Nottingham Forest fan and freelance journalist Daniel Storey on the latest edition of the Garibaldi Red podcast, during which the pair discussed all of the latest transfer news concerning Forest and they spent some time talking about the possibility of Chris Hughton’s side making a move for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline.

Wilson has made just one appearance for Liverpool in the 2020/21 season thus far and he has been linked with a loan move to the Championship of late, with Forest said to be one of a number of clubs in England’s second-tier interested in signing the Welshman on loan.

It has been reported that the Merseyside club are prepared to let the 23-year-old winger leave Anfield on loan this term, though they are said to have recently rejected a loan bid from Swansea City for the player, as they reportedly ‘decided they wanted Swansea to provide a greater financial commitment.’

To kick off our quiz on this past weekend's EFL action, who did League One leaders Ipswich Town beat 4-1 at the weekend?

As well as Wilson, Forest have been linked with a loan move for Kamil Grosicki, Christian Atsu and Anthony Knockaert of late and when Storey was asked which of these wingers he would like to see Forest sign during this recent edition of the Garibaldi Red podcast, the journalist shared that the Liverpool man would be his pick of the bunch.

He said: “Harry Wilson’s a star, to my mind. If he wasn’t at a big six club, I think he’d be starting every week in the Premier League for most sides, so yeah, Harry Wilson for me.”

TIF Thoughts…

Judging by these comments, the journalist would seemingly be over the moon if Wilson were to join Forest, which may be understandable, given that the last time he played in England’s second-tier was back in the 2018/19 season during a loan spell with Forest’s local rivals Derby County and he ended that campaign as Derby’s top league goalscorer, netting 16 times in the Championship that term, and he was also the Rams’ highest-rated player in the league that season according to WhoScored.

So, knowing that he performed so well in the Championship before, we feel it certainly seems as though the £14.4m-rated winger could very well have a positive impact for Forest if he were to join them this term.
