Ex-Rangers player Neil McCann appeared on a recent edition of the BBC’s Sportsound Scottish Football podcast and he spent some time discussing the Gers’ 4-0 win over Dundee United this past weekend during the show.

While the Gers will be pleased with the scoreline of the game, things weren’t entirely positive for Steven Gerrard’s side on Saturday, as four of the Glasgow-based club’s players were struck by injury.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Gers transfer quiz. According to Transfermarkt, the £4.5million signing of which player has been the club's most expensive signing so far this summer?

Ryan Jack is one of the players who was injured in this past Saturday’s Scottish Premiership game. As per BBC Sport, the 28-year-old midfielder ‘hobbled from the pitch’ just 11 minutes into the game.

McCann talked about Jack’s injury during his recent appearance on the BBC’s Sportsound Scottish Football podcast and he shared some concern over the injury, saying: “I think Ryan Jack is a concern because he just sat down on the field very early into the match.

“Those little calf injuries can be really troublesome. I’ve had many myself and you think they’re okay, then you just get that little nip and you think – that’s it gone. So, that’s a concern for Ryan Jack.”

TIF Thoughts…

So, as can be seen in what McCann had to say, he believes that Jack’s injury could be a ‘really troublesome’ one.

This may be worrying news for Gers supporters considering that £1.53m-rated Jack has started all seven of Rangers’ Premiership fixtures this term and the Glasgow-based club are yet to even concede a goal in the league, indicating how dominant they have been this season so far.

Considering that Jack has been a regular for Gerrard this season, it seems as though he believes that the Scotland international is a key part of his squad, so hopefully, for Rangers, the midfielder’s injury is not too serious.
