Pundit Kevin Graham has recently made a claim about Celtic veteran Scott Brown and his situation at Parkhead.

Graham was a guest on the latest episode of the A Celtic State of Mind podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Glasgow-based club. They also talked about the situation of multiple Celtic players.

Graham gave his opinion about Brown and the pundit believes that while Brown might be looking to play in Celtic’s next game, his body might be “telling him something else”.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

Brown has been a regular for Celtic in the 2020/21 season and the midfielder has made seven appearances in all competitions for the club (as per Transfermarkt).

Brown did play for the club against Ross County, but he was taken off in the second half.

Graham believes that while he looked happy to come off and would want to feature in the next game against St. Mirren, his body might be “telling him something else”.

Should Scott Brown leave Celtic next summer?

Graham said: “You look at Brown, [Neil Lennon] took Brown off. He did look quite happy to be coming off. Is he looking forward to going to Paisley on Wednesday night? I’m sure he is.

“I’m sure he would love to play, but his body might be telling him something else. The science guys – they might be telling him something else.”

TIF Thoughts…

Brown is now 35 and isn’t getting any younger with every passing day, but the Scotsman played the second-highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic last season.

He made 50 appearances in all competitions and played 29 times in the Premiership. He has played the third-highest number of minutes in all competitions this season as well.

It shows that he can still perform for Celtic on a regular basis, despite his age. Celtic are looking to win their tenth Premiership title in a row this season and Brown is someone who might provide the team with depth and experience.

So, he could prove to be an important player for the Bhoys in the 2020/21 season.
