McGregor has been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent days. The report from Football Insider claimed that the Celtic board ‘fear’ that McGregor’s head is being turned by the idea of joining Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

Will McGregor join Leicester City this summer?

Rough talked about McGregor and talked about the possibility of him joining the Leicester side. This comes after Neil Lennon was recently asked if some players don’t want to be at Celtic and to this, Lennon replied: “In some cases”.

Rough said: “I wouldn’t have thought at this moment in time, the Scottish boys would be looking to go to bigger places. We know Callum McGregor could get a position down south with Leicester. What Lenny’s done by saying that is just putting a doubt on four or five players. We won’t know who they are until bids actually come in.”

TIF Thoughts…

McGregor, who is currently rated at £5.4m, has been a regular for the Bhoys in the current season. He has made six appearances in all competitions and has come up with a single assist, which came in the club’s recent 3-0 win over Motherwell in the Premiership (as per Transfermarkt).

In the league, McGregor has racked up a WhoScored rating of 7.23 and it shows that he’s had a pretty impactful campaign so far and he’s an important player for Celtic. Because of that, losing McGregor could be bad for the Bhoys and they would need to keep hold of their important players, as they are looking to win their tenth Premiership title in a row this season.

So, you would think Neil Lennon’s men must try and do everything to keep McGregor at Parkhead this summer.
