Ex-Rangers player Andy Halliday discussed all things Rangers on the most recent edition of the Record Rangers podcast and during the show, he spent some time praising Gers midfielder Joe Aribo.

Aribo has made three Premiership appearances for the Glasgow-based club this season, scoring one league goal in those three games.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Gers transfer quiz. According to Transfermarkt, the £4.5million signing of which player has been the club's most expensive signing so far this summer?

The Nigeria international has been sidelined for each of the Gers’ last four Premiership games due to an ankle injury, but he delivered some impressive performances in the club’s first three games of the 2020/21 league season, earning an impressive overall WhoScored rating of 7.67/10 from those games, which makes him the club’s third-highest-rated player in Scotland’s top flight for the campaign so far.

Given his impressive performances for the Gers of late, it may not come as a surprise that Aribo’s former Rangers teammate Halliday was full of praise for the 24-year-old midfielder during this recent edition of the Record Rangers podcast, saying: “I’m a huge fan of Joe Aribo. If I’m picking a team, I would always like to fit Joe in there.

“He’s someone that impresses me on a day-to-day basis at Rangers. He’s, for me, arguably, the best trainer at the club.”

Does Joe Aribo get into the Gers' best starting XI?

TIF Thoughts…

Judging by Halliday’s comments, it seems as though Aribo impressed him in training during their time together at Ibrox and the ex-Rangers man believes that £900k-rated midfielder should have a place in the Gers’ strongest XI.

With that in mind, hopefully, for the Glasgow-based club, the 24-year-old midfielder can recover from his injury and get back to action sooner rather than later in order to give the Gers the best possible chance of winning their first top-flight title since the 2010/11 campaign this term.
