Pundit Alan Rough has recently praised Celtic teenager Jeremie Frimpong for his abilities and strengths as a player.
Rough was a guest on the latest episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show, during which the panel discussed multiple issues involving Scottish football. One Celtic player that they talked about was Frimpong and this led to Rough heaping praise on the Dutch youngster.
Frimpong joined Celtic from Manchester City in September 2019 for a fee of £342k. He broke into the club’s first-team last season and made 14 Premiership appearances while either scoring or assisting five goals as well.
During this recent episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show, Rough shared that he believes that Frimpong is “superb” while attacking and he also thinks that people often forget how young the Dutchman is.
Will Frimpong leave Celtic in the next three years?
Yes
No
He said: “Going forward, he’s absolutely superb. I think we all forget how young he is. [I] just enjoy watching him.
“He [is] just a breath of fresh air, the way he gets forward, the way he links up. Yeah, he’s been absolutely super.”
TIF Thoughts…
Currently 19 years old, Frimpong has made eight Premiership appearances for Celtic this season and has directly contributed to two goals.
As a result, he has picked up a rating of 6.87 and 10 players have picked up better ratings than him in the league this term (as per WhoScored).
Apart from having played at right-back, Frimpong has also played on the right side of the midfield for the Bhoys, which shows that he is a versatile player.
He is still only 19 and might still improve as a footballer. So, it is understandable why Rough is excited about Frimpong.
