To kick off this quiz on Wolves' 2019/20 season, which side did the Old Gold's first win of the Premier League term come against?

One of the topics that came up while Castles was talking about Wolves was their record signing of Fabio Silva.

It seems as if Silva is rated highly in Portugal, and he will come into Wolves’ first-team squad to cover for Raul Jimenez.

He said: “Fabio Silva is a player who was flagged up to me a couple of years ago by people in Portuguese football as potentially the solution to [the] Portugal national team’s long search for a proper centre-forward.

“He’s scored a huge number of goals at youth level, he is interestingly very similar to Raul Jimenez in the way he plays.

“What I am hearing is he’s to come in and be part of the team alongside Jimenez, i.e. part of the squad and essentially provide them with a backup because they didn’t have a backup, and were fortunate that Raul Jimenez didn’t get injured last season.”

Do you think Silva will be a good backup for Jimenez?

TIF Thoughts…

Wolves spent £35.6m on Silva, and he has only scored one league goal for Porto in 12 games, however, it looks like he is rated in his home country and will be used as backup for Jimenez.

This makes sense because the Mexican played a staggering 55 games in all competitions last season, and it should be considered good news that the Old Gold now have someone that they could use to give the 29-year-old a rest or cover him if he picks up an injury.

Silva made very few senior appearances for Porto, and Wolves have spent a lot of money on him, so it will be interesting to see how he does this season and beyond.
