Wolverhampton Wanderers journalist Tim Spiers has been sharing his thoughts on what potential transfer deals the West Midlands club could make throughout the remainder of the current transfer window.

This comes after Spiers recently made an appearance on The Athletic’s Wolves-themed podcast The Molineux View where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the Old Gold.

On the topic of Wolves’ current transfer window, Spiers had this to say on the possibility of some more deals being done at the club before the window closes next week.

He said: “The way it was described to me was they’d only bring somebody in if they had a couple of horrendous results – I mean, they have had one [against West Ham United], injuries and if the right deal becomes available and we know with Jorge Mendes, there’s not many deals that you can rule out.

“There’s nothing that I’m aware of at the moment, but equally if something was presented to them that they felt was right, then they would do it, there is the money to do it.”

So far in this current transfer window, Wolves have spent a total sum of £73.62 million on bringing in players such as Fabio Silva, Nelson Semedo, Ki-Jana Hoever and Marcal (per Transfermarkt).

Wolves currently sit in 16th place on the Premier League table after only winning one of their first three league games of the season.

TIF Thoughts…

As Spiers referenced on the podcast, Wolves recently suffered a 4-0 defeat to West Ham United at the weekend, so perhaps this heavy defeat to West Ham could push the club into bringing in some additional players to improve their squad.

With the current window set to close next week, they will have to move quickly if they want to bring anyone in before then.
