West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently made a claim regarding the Irons’ co-chairman David Gold.

Recently, the Hammers’ other co-chairman, David Sullivan, made an appearance on talkSPORT and spoke on various matters regarding the London Stadium-based club.

One area that Sullivan discussed was incoming transfers and he revealed that bids have been submitted for some of David Moyes’ transfer targets.

However, he claimed that he was not sure if they will actually sign for the Hammers and stated “it’s the manager’s decision” before explaining that Moyes “doesn’t want to bring in players who are just numbers, just squad players.”

On the latest episode of The West Ham Way podcast, the host, Dave Walker, and @ExWHUemployee discussed Sullivan’s transfer talk.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

Walker said: “He is basically saying, ‘I’m ready to get these players, I need David [Moyes] to tell me who he wants.’ In other words, it’s on David [Moyes]. Everything is always someone else’s fault.”

To which @ExWHUemployee continued: “This is why David Gold, I think at the moment, is trying to distance himself from David Sullivan because you know who’s next in the firing line – it’ll be David Gold.

“So, I think he’s trying to distance himself from it and I agree. See, the thing is, right, I have spoken to someone very close to David Sullivan and he says things like, ‘We know we’ve not made the right decisions at times.’

“I’ve said to this person in the past, ‘Say that, that would get so much more credibility than making excuses and blaming everyone else.'”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster had to say, he seems to believe that Gold may be distancing himself from Sullivan at the moment.

Do you think that David Gold could be distancing himself from David Sullivan?

No, I don't think he is

No, I don't think he is

Yes, I think he could be

Yes, I think he could be

With the current ownership of the club having been a source of fan frustration for several years now (via Daily Mail), perhaps it would be no surprise if there was some truth in what @ExWHUemployee claimed.
