West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has recently cast doubt over Jack Wilshere’s future at the London Stadium.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been with the Irons since he moved to the club from Arsenal on a free transfer during the summer of 2018 (per Transfermarkt).

Since his arrival, the Englishman has suffered several injury issues and made only 18 West Ham appearances in which he bagged just one goal and one assist.

Of the known salaries of West Ham players, Wilshere is the second-highest-paid player at the London Stadium on a whopping £100,000 per week (per Spotrac).

So, in the latest episode of The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee discussed the future of the former Arsenal midfielder and suggested that he may not be with the club for much longer.

To kick off this quiz on West Ham's 2019/20 season, which side did the Hammers' first win of the term come against?

He said: “In terms of big news in terms of a player that will be leaving, I think, this window, is Jack Wilshere. They want to pay him off, they’ve offered to pay him off.

“They are trying really hard to get him off the wages before the window closes. So, there is a strong chance that Wilshere will not be a [West Ham] player beyond the deadline.

“I mean, we could get rid of him whenever we want to, but obviously, if we can get rid of him now, then that frees up wages that we could put towards someone else. So, I do believe the club want to move him on.

“I’d be almost certain to say that he knows that the club are trying to move him on [and] get rid of him.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the in-the-know podcaster had to say, he believes that Wilshere will no longer be a West Ham player by the end of the transfer window.

Will you be happy if West Ham manage to get rid of Jack Wilshere?

Yes, he's not good enough

No, he's a good player

During the 2019/20 Premier League season, Wilshere made just eight appearances for the Irons and earned a weak 6.01/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

That left the English midfielder as the second-worst performer for the Hammers over the duration of the season.

When considering his lowly standing in the squad in terms of performances in comparison with his hefty wages, it is clear to see why the club is supposedly keen to ship him out.
