To kick off this quiz on West Ham's 2019/20 season, which side did the Hammers' first win of the term come against?

One of the teams that McGarry spent some time on was West Ham United and he has shared that the Hammers are talking to Slavia Prague for Vladimir Coufal, which was also reported by the Daily Mail.

It seems as if the Hammers are keen on the Czech Republic international, and they see him as a replacement for Pablo Zabaleta.

He will cost in the region of €10-12m (£9.11-£10.94m), which is well over his Transfermarkt valuation of £1.8m.

He said: “The breaking news [on Tuesday was] that West Ham are in talks with Slavia Prague about their right-back Vladimir Coufal, who they look upon as a replacement for players who have left the club, most notably Pablo Zabaleta.

“They will need money to sign Coufal, who’s valued at around €10-12m.”

Would you be happy with Coufal signing?

No, do we need another right-back?

Yes, could be a good signing

Yes, could be a good signing

TIF Thoughts…

Coufal has played for his country eight times and he also has played with current West Ham man Tomas Soucek on 71 occasions, so if the Hammers did sign him, he would have a familiar face to help him settle.

Coufal is 28 and has Champions League experience and, if signed, would provide more competition for the right-back role.

However, the fact that West Ham need to raise funds to sign Coufal could be a problem though a recent report suggested that a deal for Coufal is edging closer to completion.

Therefore, by the end of the transfer window, Coufal seemingly could be a West Ham player.
