On the latest episode of the Come on You Spurs podcast, host Dan Tracey was joined by fellow Lilywhites supporters Karl William, James McCarthy and @MikeCOYSpurs, as they discussed the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, with a focus on the transfer window and the recently-released All or Nothing documentary.

One topic of discussion on the most recent podcast, which was titled: ‘All Or Nothing‘, was Dele Alli. The 24-year-old struggled at times last season, averaging a 6.87 rating for his performances in the Premier League, having contributed eight goals and four assists in 25 appearances (per WhoScored).

Those on the podcast seem to agree that if the former MK Dons man can’t rediscover the form he showed in his first couple of seasons with the club, then he may fall victim to Jose Mourinho’s regime and struggle to establish himself as a first-team regular next season.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

Here’s what William had to say about the midfielder, and the interactions between him and Mourinho in the All or Nothing documentary:

“I do believe that Jose wants to try and get the best out of him, but you do just get the impression from the bits that you see [in the documentary], you don’t know if it’s sunk in massively, and you don’t know if there’s been that real dedication to doing what he possibly needs to.

“We are now seeing a guy who has gone from being one of the first names on the teamsheet to suddenly, ‘I’m not so sure today whether I’m going to pick you, I’m not sure if you’re in my best XI.’

“I think time will tell and this will be a real key season coming forward now, for us to see where Dele is. Can he find his best form again? Can he get back to that player we had when he first burst on the scene? Has he taken the view that maybe he has taken his eye off the ball seriously and he’s knuckled down? I really hope he does, because there’s a great player [in there] but if not, I think we’re already seeing from these first few episodes [that] Jose probably has got his eye on him and he’s starting to think, ‘If you don’t start to show me more, [your] time could be coming to an end and you may not fulfil that potential that you really should be fulfilling.'”

TIF Thoughts…

William certainly seems to think that Mourinho has his eye on Alli in the first few episodes of the documentary and wants him to knuckle down to prove that he is worthy of a starting spot. However, when you consider his arguably disappointing form from last season, perhaps the 24-year-old didn’t do enough to prove to Mourinho that he should be a regular in his starting XI.

Do you think Alli could be sold if he doesn't impress Mourinho this season?

It will be interesting to see how Alli does this season and whether he is trusted to start in the Lilywhites’ opening game against Everton this Sunday.
