Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to slam the performance of Eric Dier in their Europa League qualifying game against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
The England international started at centre-back against the Bulgarian side and faced a lot of criticism from fans for his display, despite the north London club sealing a place in the third qualifying round with a 2-1 win against the home side. The 26-year-old picked up a disappointing 6.39/10 rating for his performance, which although poor, was only the sixth-worst of any Tottenham player (per WhoScored), suggesting that he may have been scapegoated somewhat by Lilywhites supporters.
The England international, who is valued at £18 million (as per Transfermarkt), recently signed a new contract with the north London club and has started both games of the new season, so it seems as if that despite how much Spurs fans might not like it, he may continue to feature for Jose Mourinho’s side throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
