Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour linking their club with a loan move for Benfica striker Haris Seferovic.
According to Football Insider (via Daily Hotspur), the North London club is expected to table a loan bid for the Swiss international in the next few days, having suffered a blow in their pursuit of Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Time is running out for the Lilywhites to bring in another striker, with the transfer window closing in early October, and they currently have just Harry Kane available as a natural striker in their senior squad.
Last season, in the Liga NOS, the 28-year-old striker contributed just five goals and two assists in 30 league appearances for Benfica, averaging a less than impressive 6.47 rating (per WhoScored).
However, the season before, he hit 23 goals in 29 top-flight appearances for the Eagles, which saw him average a superb 7.47 rating (per WhoScored), suggesting that when on form, he certainly knows where the back of the net is.
Would you be happy with the signing of Seferovic?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Seferovic can be seen in the tweets below.
Interestingly, a couple of Spurs fans stated that the emerging link was more bad news for the club, which may be down to the fact that Heung-Min Son recently suffered an injury.
This is actually shocking

Terrible signing in my opinion. Screams of can’t get anyone else so he’ll do. Considering we have known about the need for a striker since Llorente left 2 summers ago this is just not good enough.

Dreadful

Overall, it seems clear that despite their lack of strikers at the moment, the majority of Spurs fans would not be happy to see Seferovic signed.
