Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour linking their club with a move for Southampton striker Danny Ings.

According to The Telegraph (via Hotspur Related), the north London club have made an approach for the former Liverpool forward, although the Saints are ‘adamant’ that they will not sell the England international in the current transfer window. The 28-year-old was in superb form last season, contributing 22 goals and two assists in 38 appearances, averaging an impressive 7.12/10 rating (per WhoScored).

Therefore, it is perhaps no surprise to hear that Spurs are showing an interest in the Englishman, as they look to bring in another striker to support Harry Kane, with Jose Mourinho confirming recently that the Lilywhites would be signing a natural striker before the transfer window closes in October.

Do you think signing Ings is possible this window?

Whilst Ings is valued at just £18 million by Transfermarkt, Ralph Hasenhuttl will no doubt be hoping that he can be a key player for his side again during the 2020/21 season, so it would perhaps be a surprise to see them part ways with the forward for as little as that.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported interest in Ings can be seen in the tweets below.

Overall, whilst a lot of Spurs fans would clearly love to sign Ings, some feel that a move for the 28-year-old during this current transfer window just isn’t feasible.
