Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a reported update on the Lilywhites’ reported transfer target Arkadiusz Milik.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the Napoli ace throughout the transfer window, although it now seems as if the former Ajax man will be joining Roma this summer, dealing another blow to Jose Mourinho’s hopes of bringing in a striker.

According to Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Daily Hotspur), the Polish international is now likely to join Paulo Fonseca’s side, with Roma having agreed a €25 million (£23 million) deal, plus €5 million (£4.61 million) in bonuses, for the 26-year-old.

Mourinho confirmed recently that the Lilywhites are confident of signing a forward before the end of the transfer window, and Milik could well have been the ideal option, with the forward having contributed 11 goals in just 26 Serie A appearances last season (per WhoScored).

However, this latest blow leaves Spurs with just Harry Kane as a natural striker in their squad, and with the number of games the North London club will have to play in the next couple of months, it seems as if they will quickly have to turn their attentions elsewhere if they want to ensure that the England captain doesn’t have to feature in every game, which would perhaps increase the chances of him suffering another long-term injury, similar to the one he suffered last season.

Reaction from Spurs fans to the reported update on Milik can be seen in the tweets below.

Plenty of Spurs fans don’t seem happy at all with this update, and clearly wanted to see Milik join their club this summer.

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans are angry with the Tottenham board after they seemingly missed out on another transfer target.
