Journalist Miguel Delaney has recently made a claim about Gareth Bale and how the Welshman has sounded ‘a little bit excited’ about Spurs.

Delaney was a guest on the latest episode of OTB Football’s The Football Show and the panel discussed multiple issues involving English football. Delaney also talked about Bale’s potential loan move to Spurs. He believes that the Welshman sounded a bit excited about Spurs when he was recently asked about the club.

1. Spurs signed Alfie Devine from which League One club?

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Bale and Sergio Reguilon have now left Madrid to fly to London and Spurs have now completed the deals for both the players. Bale is about to return to the club on a one-year loan deal.

Delaney talked about how Bale feels about Spurs and he believes that the Real Madrid man sounded ‘a little bit excited’ about the north London club when talking about them in a recent interview.

Do you think Bale still loves Spurs?

No

He said: “I was talking to someone who interviewed Bale recently, and they were saying while he was very measured in most of his answers and all this – when it came to Spurs, he actually got a little bit excited and spoke about it with enthusiasm that maybe you would no longer associate with Bale’s career.”

TIF Thoughts…

Bale left Spurs for Real Madrid in 2013 for a fee of £90.9m. At the Santiago Bernabeu-based club, the Welshman has won as many as four Champions League titles and has also won a couple of La Liga titles for Los Blancos (as per Transfermarkt).

Apart from his previous connections with Spurs, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has also confirmed that the player still ‘loves’ the north London club and it is where ‘he wants to be’ as well.

So clearly, Bale has a lot of affection for Tottenham and it is hardly a surprise that Delaney has said this about the 31-year-old.
