Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a transfer update regarding Brentford striker Ollie Watkins.
According to BBC Sport’s Phil McNulty, Premier League outfit Aston Villa are ‘close’ to a deal to sign Watkins from the Bees.
Supposedly, the transfer will set Dean Smith’s side back an initial £28m and that has the potential to rise to a whopping £33m due to add-ons.
This transfer report was relayed to Tottenham fans by Last Word On Spurs and it had lots of them talking.

A recent report by The Sun, as cited by Football.london, had stated that Jose Mourinho’s outfit were looking to ‘pip’ the Villans to the signing of the ‘in-demand striker’.
In their report, it was stated that a bid of around £22m was going to be enough to tempt Brentford into selling the English frontman.
Another one missed ?

During the 2019/20 Championship season, Watkins was in stellar form for the Bees as he netted 26 goals in 49 league appearances for them (per WhoScored).
The 24-year-old forward’s prolific form earned him an impressive 7.26/10 average rating which made him Brentford’s second-best performer in the league.
However, the touted total possible fee of £33m is way over his £10.8m market value, as per Transfermarkt.
Are Aston Villa paying over the odds to sign Ollie Watkins?
Yes, he's not worth it
No, it's a decent deal
He ain’t worth that, untested in premier league, good deal for Brentford if they can get that price.

Gutting – no doubt he’ll absolutely smash it and in a couple of years time turn out to be a player that Spurs will regret not going for now. https://t.co/NWBGWjWShD

As can be seen in these responses from Spurs fans, they are clearly divided, with some believing that Watkins is not worth £33m and others thinking that Spurs should have paid the fee to get him.
