During the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on the 2-1 friendly defeat against Watford and shedding some light on some of the transfer business that the Lilywhites could do before the end of the window.

One topic of discussion on his recent video was Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon. It has been reported recently that Los Blancos have offered out their 23-year-old left-back to Manchester United, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

The Spanish international spent last season on loan with Sevilla and seriously impressed, averaging a superb 7.10 WhoScored rating for his performances in La Liga, while he also helped Julen Lopetegui’s side to a Europa League triumph.

Here’s what Gold had to say about the likelihood of Spurs signing Reguilon during his video:

“I do feel there [are] players like Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, if he was to become available at a very good price, Spurs would move for him. Will that happen? Probably not. He had a terrific season for Sevilla, I think United are circling as well.

“There’s also talk that Real Madrid will only consider a loan, because they also believe that he could be a very good player for them as well going forward. Is he likely to be a bargain price? No, probably not, [but] Spurs do like him.”

TIF Thoughts…

Gold seems to think that unless Zinedine Zidane’s side make Reguilon available for a “bargain price”, then it is unlikely that he will complete a permanent move to the Lilywhites this summer.

Do you want Spurs to make a move for Reguilon this summer?

No

Considering his impressive form from last season, compared to Ben Davies’ less impressive 6.77 WhoScored rating in the 2019/20 Premier League, then it can certainly be argued that he would be a strong addition to Mourinho’s side, but as it stands, it seems that he won’t be joining the north London club during the current transfer window.
