In the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, with a focus on their recent signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

One topic of discussion during the video was Spurs midfielder Dele Alli. The 24-year-old was left out of both squads to face Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Southampton recently, and it has been subsequently suggested that the Lilywhites are willing to let him leave on loan this summer, with PSG having reportedly begun talks with the former MK Dons man (per The Guardian).

Spurs fans: How well can you remember the last week of THFC action? - 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal of the season?

Here’s what Gold had to say about the 24-year-old and his future with Spurs during the video:

“On Alli, just want to say, [there’s] speculation over his future and there’s even speculation over whether he will be involved [on Sunday] at Southampton, but everything coming out of the club is that they expect him to still be at the club by the end of the window and that he is in Jose Mourinho’s plans – and why would Alli want to leave right now? He’d be daft to.

“Yes, he might think he’ll get [fewer] minutes with [Gareth] Bale coming in and everything. But Bale is not going to play for at least probably a month. This is his chance now to say, ‘I should be in this team,’ and not only that, ‘Just watch me link up with Gareth Bale.'”

TIF Thoughts…

As we saw on Sunday, Alli was left out of the squad, and it was confirmed that he is not injured, so it certainly seems at the moment that Mourinho would be willing to let him leave due to his lack of involvement.

Do you think Alli will stay with Spurs during this window?

Yes

No

No

However, Gold certainly seems to think that the Englishman will still be with the club by the time the window shuts and that with the arrival of Bale, he should be pushing himself to prove to Mourinho that he is good enough to be starting in this Spurs team regularly, perhaps alongside the Welsh international once he is fit enough to play.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Alli but perhaps a loan spell with PSG wouldn’t be the worst idea, especially if it helps him rediscover the form he showed in his first few seasons with the Lilywhites.
