Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing Spurs full-back Danny Rose and his immediate future at the London club.

This comes after Gold recently shared a video on his YouTube channel where he spoke about the latest goings-on with Jose Mourinho’s side at the moment.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

On the subject of which current Spurs players were not involved during Spurs’ recent pre-season matches, Gold had this to say on the matter.

He said: “It’s strange. Obviously I saw Harry Winks did the sky walk on Tuesday, but hasn’t been involved since that first Ipswich game. [Japhet] Tanganga we’ve seen in training photos. [Juan] Foyth was involved against Ipswich and then was sitting behind the subs against Reading on Friday. It’s so strange.

“Danny Rose; I think we know why he’s not involved, because he’s going to be off.”

Rose, who is currently valued at £14.4 million, first signed to the London club back in 2007 from the Leeds United U18 squad for a fee of £900k.

Since then, the Englishman has gone on to make a total of 214 senior appearances for Tottenham across all competitions in which he has managed to score 10 goals and provide 29 assists for his Spurs teammates (per Transfermarkt).

The 30-year-old joined fellow Premier League side Newcastle United back in the previous January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the 2019/20 season.

During his time at St. James’ Park, Rose made 11 Premier League appearances for Steve Bruce’s side. His performances in those appearances earned him a disappointing season rating of 6.47/10 (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

If what Gold suggested in his video about Rose’s future at Spurs turns out to be true, it may not come as a huge surprise due to his poor loan spell at Newcastle.

If the London club does decide to get rid of Rose this summer, it will be interesting to see which clubs would be willing to take the left-back from the London club.
