Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting positively to an update on Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst, which suggests that he could become a Tottenham Hotspur player this week.
According to Dutch journalist Fardau Wagenaar in Tubantia (via Daily Hotspur), the Lilywhites are seriously interested in signing the former AZ Alkmaar forward, and he could sign as soon as this week. The Dutch forward contributed an impressive 16 goals and three assists for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga last season, averaging a strong 7.06/10 rating across his 32 appearances (per WhoScored).
He has also scored over 10 league goals in every season since the 2015/16 campaign, suggesting that he is a reliable goalscorer, and would provide excellent competition for Harry Kane, which Spurs will no doubt be looking to provide considering their hectic schedule. The 28-year-old is currently valued at £27 million by Transfermarkt, however, suggesting that he could be a fairly expensive option for the Lilywhites.
Would Weghorst be a good signing for Spurs?

Despite the reports, Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold has suggested (as per Football.london) that Spurs’ links to Weghorst aren’t as concrete as they seem. However, overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans would be over the moon with the signing of the Dutchman, and will be hoping to see him make the move to north London as soon as possible.
