Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to an update from Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
It was reported earlier this week that the Lilywhites were interested in signing the 21-year-old, although Gold has since confirmed, with reference to Evening Standard reporter Dan Kilpatrick, that Spurs may have to consider him as one for a future transfer window, as he is keen to stay in Austria for now.
The Zambian striker contributed an impressive 24 goals and eight assists in 31 league appearances for RB Salzburg last season (per Transfermarkt), so it is no surprise to see Spurs taking an interest in the young forward.
Although it seems as if he is keen to stay with the Austrian side for now, the North London club may regret not pursuing this deal further if they cannot bring in another forward, as should he enjoy another strong season, perhaps his current value of £18 million will dramatically increase, as it did last season (per Transfermarkt), which may rule out a Spurs move for him in the future if he becomes too expensive.

Typical. Now will be scrabbling around while the season’s started with a crucial imbalance in the squad. Only at Spurs…

Once again our search for a striker ends. Utter joke if we go again without competition for Harry for another season.

Plenty of Spurs fans seem frustrated that they currently have just Harry Kane available as a natural striker in their squad, despite the season kicking off on Sunday.
Disappointing 🙁 he looks like a great talent

So with the season starting on Sunday and one striker on the books we single out a striker who doesn’t want to move?!

But I’m sure Levy will be blamed.

What kind of shambles organisation needed to wait till 2 days before the season begins to figure that out.

Overall, it seems as if a lot of Spurs fans are less than happy that their club looks set to start the season with just one natural striker, following the update on Daka.
