Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a reported update on Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, which suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing a deal for the forward.
According to Raffaele Auriemma from TuttoSport (via TuttoNapoli) negotiations between the Lilywhites and Napoli are well advanced and are currently taking place in London between Daniel Levy and Milik’s agent. It is suggested that Spurs will sign the Polish international on a one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy him for €25 million (£22.8 million).
Last season, the former Ajax man contributed 11 goals in 26 Serie A appearances, averaging a solid 6.88 rating (per WhoScored). It seems as if he will sign a new deal with Gli Azzurri before departing, as his current contract is set to expire at the end of this season, so it would make little sense for Spurs to pay the €25 million fee following his loan if he was available on a free, but if he can provide replicate the same sort of form he has shown with both Napoli and Ajax at times during his career, then he will surely prove to be a good signing indeed.
