Speaking on the latest episode of The Extra Inch podcast, Nathan Clark has been discussing all things relating to Tottenham Hotspur.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

One of the topics that he talked about was the future of Tanguy Ndombele and who he would like to see replace the 23-year-old if Tottenham decide to get rid of the Frenchman.

It seems as if Clark would like to see Tottenham move for Ibrahim Sangare, who has been linked with a move to the club, if Ndombele has to be moved on, but he really doesn’t want to see Spurs get rid of the Frenchman yet.

He said: “My personal patience for him and my personal tolerance for the issues he’s had so far is really high because he’s just such an incredible player, and I would really like us to do whatever we can to try to make it work out with him.”

When pushed by co-panellist Chris Miller for an answer on who he would like to see replace the midfielder in the event he leaves, Clark insisted he would opt for the Toulouse man, saying: “Sangare’s top of my list to come in and take that role from him and be a more defensive version of Ndombele.”

Do you think Sangare would be a good replacement for Ndombele?

TIF Thoughts…

It has been reported that Ndombele has been put up for sale by Tottenham, and he is wanted by Inter Milan, so if Spurs do sell him, Clark would like to see a move for Sangare.

The Toulouse midfielder is reportedly available for between €8m-€10m (£7.14m-£8.93m) and is very strong at making tackles.

If you compare the Ivorian’s defensive stats to Ndombele’s from last season in the league, you will see that Sangare made more tackles per game and more interceptions per game.

They are different players and both Ndombele and Sangare have different traits with the Frenchman more creative and the Ivorian better defensively.

Despite this, though, it is clear that Clark would like to see Sangare come in if Ndombele was to leave. However, he doesn’t want to see the 23-year-old leave yet.

It will be intriguing to see what happens with Ndombele as the transfer window progresses, but it is clear that Clark would like to see him stay in north London.
