Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which shares the alleged news that Crystal Palace forward, Alexander Sorloth, rejected a move to Spurs this summer.

According to Fanatik, as cited by Sport Witness, the striker, who is still technically on loan from Palace at Turkish side Trabzonspor, rejected a move to Tottenham this summer as he did not want to be a back-up striker for Harry Kane.

This is supported by a report by BILD, who also claim that Sorloth rejected a move to north London as he would have had ‘an absolute superstar in front of his nose in Harry Kane’, as well as the fact that the 24-year-old wishes to play Champions League football, something that Spurs cannot offer this season.

After this news was shared by Hotspur Related on Twitter, fans of Spurs flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating that they are happy the £18 million-rated striker turned them down.

While these Spurs fans appear glad that Sorloth did not make the move to north London this summer, it is hard to argue that the player has not impressed while at Trabzonspor and that he would have had the potential to add something to the Spurs attack if he were to have joined the club.

In his 34 league appearances last term, the forward bagged 24 goals and provided eight assists for Trabzonspor, averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.57, and earning nine WhoScored Man of the Match awards.

However, in the end, Sorloth decided that he would prefer a move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, something which the following Spurs fans don’t seem to be too concerned about, with some sharing criticism of the striker.

All in all, it would seem these Spurs fans are pleased that Sorloth will not be joining their club, with many questioning the Norway international’s mentality, while others simply stated that they didn’t want the player to join them in the first place.
