A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have replied to a post from their club that contains a link to a post from their website with an update on the structure of the football club.
The update confirms that Spurs have appointed Trevor Birch as Director of Football Operations. Birch has had previous roles with the likes of Swansea City, Chelsea and Everton.
As well as this, Tottenham have made Rebecca Caplehorn the Director of Football Administration and Governance, and Steve Hitchen has been promoted to Technical Performance Director, which will mean he is in charge of scouting, recruitment analysis, and youth recruitment.
This has drawn the attention of these Spurs fans, who are pleased with this news – or at least intrigued.
Is this good news?
Yes
No
Big changes regarding the football side of the club. Maybe Levy is now stepping away from the transfer side of things. Good news. Now he can focus on the naming rights and marketing and property he loves

Excellent news! Levy, stay in the board room and sign the cheques.

Huge news this! This is the same bloke who helped complete Chelsea’s takeover to Roman Abramovich. Maybe Levy could have less control over transfers too we can all hope! https://t.co/PEck1pWAVx

It is claimed that Daniel Levy will remain as chairman and oversee proceedings as chair of a ‘Football Board’. This news has disappointed these Tottenham fans because Levy is still involved.
So nothings changed then if Levy is still chairman ?!

Yep that’s right levy has appointed a yes man from a small operation, to oversee running the club on a shoestring…. on a levy appointed football board…. with levy on it!!! Club is gone!

Tottenham were linked with a move for Jose Mourinho’s good friend Luis Campos in late 2019, but they have gone for this new structure instead, which has clearly divided the fanbase.
It will be interesting to see how they work together for the rest of the window as Spurs reportedly have a limited budget and have already signed the likes of Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
They are now looking at a backup striker for Harry Kane, and Josh King’s agents have been in talks with Spurs over a possible deal.
If they could bring the 28-year-old to north London from Bournemouth, that could be classed as a good start for Spurs’ new football management board, given the club have welcomed a new centre-forward to the club since Fernando Llorente joined back in 2017.
