Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account which shares the news that Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Harry Kane ‘will play’ against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
The Lilywhites will take on Plovdiv in their second-round qualifier for the 2020/21 Europa League on Thursday 17th September and as per Spurs’ official Twitter account, Mourinho has declared that Kane will feature against the Bulgarian side.
After Tottenham Hotspur’s official Twitter account shared this news, a lot of Spurs supporters replied to their tweet to react to this revelation.

Some of the Spurs fans who replied to this post pointed out that the Lilywhites lack depth at the centre forward position and suggested that they aren’t surprised that Kane will play versus Plovdiv.
We don’t have another striker so I could of confirmed that last week to be honest ???

One particular Tottenham fan replied to this post to state that it would be a ‘ridiculous decision’ to play Kane in this fixture, while another Spurs supporter questioned why the 27-year-old Englishman is set to feature in this game.
Ridiculous decision. He shouldn’t play. Or at least shouldn’t start

Meanwhile, some Spurs supporters shared some concern over the possibility that Kane will suffer an injury versus Plovdiv.

Stupidity.
Not worth the risk.— Spurs Bob (@Spurs2Bob) September 16, 2020
Should Kane play in this game?
YES
NO
Judging by the replies to this tweet, it seems as though this decision is not a popular one amongst Spurs supporters.
Considering that Mourinho has complained about the congested nature of Spurs’ fixture list for the start of the 2020/21 campaign, we feel that it may make sense for him to rest Kane for this second-round Europa League qualifier, given that this game against the Bulgarian side who have not historically had much success in Europe, takes place between two Premier League fixtures, one of which – Tottenham’s Premier League season opener against Everton – Kane has already participated in for a full 90 minutes.
