On the latest video for his YouTube channel, football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United last weekend and shedding some light on the latest transfer news surrounding the club.

One topic of conversation on his recent video was Jose Mourinho and his apparent frustration with Spurs’ lack of striker options.

The North London club are still yet to bring in another striker during the transfer window, with Harry Kane the club’s only natural striker option in the squad at the moment, and time is now running out for them, with the transfer window shutting in less than a week.

How well can you remember the last week of Spurs action? 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal in the win against KF Shkendija?

Here’s what Gold had to say about the Portuguese manager and his current frustrations during the video:

“Mourinho, as I understand it, is getting a little bit frustrated behind the scenes, a bit more vocal especially about the striker and wanting to get that done.

“You can understand it, it’s one of those ‘I told you so’ moments, isn’t it?

“[Heung-Min] Son [is] out, you can see why he’s frustrated because this would be the scenario where you’d have the new striker in and you’d have him ready and raring to go for at least one or two of these cup matches coming up.”

TIF Thoughts…

As Gold alludes to, Son picked up a hamstring injury in the game against Newcastle at the weekend, perhaps due to the sheer number of games he has played recently.

Had Spurs already signed another striker, you would imagine that the likes of Son and Kane would have had more rest, as perhaps Mourinho would have trusted him to start in the recent Europa League qualifying games.

Do you think Mourinho has a right to be frustrated?

No

Hopefully, for Spurs fans, they will be able to bring in another natural striker before the transfer window shuts, otherwise, they risk being too reliant on Kane, and considering the number of games Spurs have to play at the moment, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see him pick up an injury similar to the one that kept him out last season, which considering his explosive start to the season, would surely be a nightmare situation for the North London club.
