During the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on the 2-1 friendly defeat against Watford and shedding some light on some of the transfer business that the Lilywhites could do before the end of the window.

One topic of discussion on his recent video was the future of Spurs defender Danny Rose. The former England international spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, following reports that he had fallen out with Jose Mourinho.

However, the 30-year-old failed to impress in his performances with the Toon; averaging a disappointing 6.47 rating across his 11 top-flight appearances (per WhoScored) and with Steve Bruce’s side seemingly close to signing Jamal Lewis from Norwich City, it perhaps seems unlikely that the Spurs left-back will be returning to the North East permanently this summer.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

Here’s what Gold had to say about Rose and his potential future at Spurs during the video:

“I heard a little whisper yesterday that Danny Rose might have played with the Under-23s, but there’s no confirmation on that whatsoever. Obviously, he’s clearly not part of the first-team setup as they look to move him on.”

TIF Thoughts…

From what Gold suggests, Rose certainly doesn’t have a future at Spurs and won’t be anywhere near the first-team, as the Lilywhites look to sell him this summer. However, when you consider that the left-back vowed to see out his contract with the North London club in an interview last year, they may perhaps struggle to move the £14.4 million-rated man on during the transfer window.

Do you think Rose will ever play for Spurs again?

Unfortunately for Rose, it seems that if he doesn’t leave, he may face a year of playing reserve football, as Mourinho seems to be happy to start the season with Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Cirkin as his left-back options, as Gold has suggested in a previous video on his channel.
