A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from Latin American outlet Bolavip, which claims that the Magpies are battling with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Santiago Arias.
Arias is one of three natural right-backs that Atletico Madrid currently have in their first team, as per Transfermarkt.
He only made 18 appearances for them last season, and he could be moved on, if this report is to be believed.
This post has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who would be very happy if their club secured this deal.
Would you want Newcastle to sign Arias?
Yes, would be an upgrade on what we have
No, we don't need him
Would be a quality signing

Hopefully true. We should cash in on Yedlin, Blackburn game proved once again that he’s a horrific defender – not bad on the counter, but we need true competition for Manquillo (who has been excellent recently) #NUFC https://t.co/LqxnuRzMPY

Arias left PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2018 for a move to La Liga, but he has only played 51 games for Atletico over the past two seasons.
He has been linked with a move to Everton this summer, but it looks like the Magpies are going to provide some competition for the Colombian international.
This post continued to draw the attention of many Newcastle fans, who want their club to sign Norwich City’s Max Aarons instead of Arias.
max aarons for 20m is better

Newcastle currently have three natural right-backs Javier Manquillo, Emil Krafth and DeAndre Yedlin; however, it looks like Yedlin could be on his way out of the Toon in this window, so Arias could be set to compete with the other two for a starting berth.
It will be intriguing to see if the Toon do sign Arias or if they leave it and focus on other transfers instead, but it is clear that many Toon fans would like to see their club bring in the Atletico Madrid right-back.
