Many Newcastle United supporters have been reacting to a Twitter post from @NUFC360 in which they relayed some quotes attributed to Steve Bruce.
The 59-year-old was appointed as the club’s boss in July 2019 and to date, he has taken charge of 50 matches, winning 17, drawing 14 and losing 19 (as per Transfermarkt).
The Magpies have won one, drawn one and lost one of their opening three Premier League fixtures this season and subsequently, they currently sit tenth in the table.
Bruce, as quoted in the tweet below, spoke with regards to the criticism he has been receiving from some supporters and here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded.
Just get out of our club and take Ashley with you.

Whatever he feels about the criticism you simply cannot belittle fans opinions like this. Criminal. I remember Rafa used to say the fans understand football. Mind you he had a plan and stuck to it. This bugger is clueless. Wheels will ckme off soon enough going on like this

Did he really say that?

Maybe Bruce if you set up a team with 100M worth of attackers that could actually have a shot on target in a game we wouldn’t be complaining?

unbelievable he actually said this #bruceout https://t.co/VN5RMtFera

Would you like to see Steve Bruce replaced sooner rather than later?
Yes
No
Well maybe he should take the criticism on board instead of sticking his head in the sand and continuing to do the same thing that doesn’t work ?????

Maybe it’s because he uses the same tactics every game, and we get the same outcome every game, and there are no obvious changes.
If something doesn’t work for a year and a half, change it up!!— Adam (@only_jokering) September 30, 2020
His inability to notice genuine problems/concerns is really worrying.

It’s clear from the above responses that these fans feel the criticism Steve Bruce has referred to is warranted with one, in particular, suggesting he should be taking the views of those who follow the club on board.
Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United contract has until June 2022 to run (as per Transfermarkt) but it remains to be seen whether the opinion of the fans will influence the ownership with regards to whether they keep him in charge until then or not.
