A nice easy one to start off with. Who scored Newcastle's opening goal of the 2020/21 PL season?

A report claims that the Premier League has passed all of the owners and organisations put forward in the Toon’s proposed takeover by PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and PIF in its owners’ and directors’ test.

However, the Premier League will not sign off on the deal because it believes that the heads of Saudi Arabia should also be put through the tests.

This article follows the news that Mike Ashley has appointed Shaheed Fatima QC & Nick De Marco QC to help in a legal battle against the Premier League to force the takeover through and not gain any sort of compensation.

This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are intrigued by what might happen in this takeover saga.

Do you think this could lead to the takeover happening?

Yes, it is possible

No, that is dead

Last week, Newcastle released a statement claiming that the Premier League had officially rejected the proposed takeover by PCP Capital Partners, the Reuben brothers and PIF.

The Premier League responded and dismissed those claims, but Ashley was told that he has a strong legal case with regards to the club’s next move, and now it looks like he has appointed some lawyers as the takeover saga rumbles on.

This could be huge for the takeover, and it has drawn the attention of many Newcastle fans.

The club believe that the Premier League and its chief executive Richard Masters did not act appropriately.

The fact Ashley appears to be actively aiming to get the takeover through could be huge for Newcastle, and it perhaps shows just how desperately the Magpies’ current owner wants out of NUFC and wants the £300m he had agreed to sell the club for in April.

This saga has gone on for so long, and it looks like it might have a while left to run as well.
