Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest squad fitness update concerning the Tyneside club.

A nice easy one to start off with. Who scored Newcastle's opening goal of the 2020/21 PL season?

During the press conference, Bruce revealed that it is “still a bit too early” for Paul Dummett, Matty Longstaff, Martin Dubravka and Fabian Schar to feature in the match.

However, on a more positive note, Bruce claimed that “everybody else seems to be OK” and that his side have a “clean bill of health” after their Carabao Cup victory against Blackburn Rovers in midweek.

Bruce also revealed that Toon winger Allan Saint-Maximin is “fine” in terms of fitness following his injury scare during the match.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were quick to share their delight at hearing the news that Saint-Maximin is fit for the match against Brighton.

Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:

Newcastle’s first game of the 2020/21 Premier League season saw them pick up all three points against West Ham United at the London Stadium last weekend thanks to goals from Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick.

Now that the official Newcastle Twitter account has relayed this update from Bruce onto their page, this paved the way for lots of Toon fans to share their reactions to it.

However, despite the positive news about Saint-Maximin, one Newcastle fan was not too pleased about the number of players that will be unavailable to play against Brighton at the weekend.

It appears that the majority of these Newcastle fans are particularly pleased by the fact that Saint-Maximin is fit to play at the weekend.

This shows that these Toon fans have a lot of admiration for the Frenchman and are looking forward to seeing him in action against Brighton.

On the other side, it’s a shame that Newcastle have a few players that aren’t fit enough to play at the weekend. The hope for everyone at the club now would be that they can pick up all three points against Brighton and hope the players out of action will be able to get fit as soon as possible.
