A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Keith Downie that contains a transfer update on Rob Holding.
The Sky Sports reporter claims that Newcastle’s attempts to bring the 24-year-old to St. James’ Park are on hold, and they might have to bide their time to allow Arsenal to sign a replacement.
This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans, who don’t seem too bothered about this news.
Do you think Newcastle need Holding?
No, we don't need him
Yes, we do need him
More than happy with Lascelles, Fede, Dummett, Clarke personally. Much rather have another forward. Wilson injury and back to square one

Why would we want him, honestly, all the defensive aerial battles we do, Holding would get bullied everytime. Stupid target

More like nufc are looking at another player for another position. Why get another centre back.

Arsenal currently have eight natural centre-backs in their first-team squad, so we are not sure they would be waiting for a replacement, but either way, that deal is not going ahead at the moment.
However, the Toon have made two additions this week with the signings of Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson announced on Monday before Newcastle’s opening Premier League clash with West Ham United.
This post from Downie continued to draw these Toon fans’ attention who are not bothered about not signing Holding or are making a joke.

Newcastle currently have six players who are natural centre-backs, so unless a couple of them depart, there might not be room for Holding anyway.
This could be one to keep an eye on as the window progresses, but it is clear that many Toon fans are not convinced by Holding anyway.
The 24-year-old has had one terrible injury and has made 79 Arsenal appearances and it had looked like he was going to join Newcastle, but that deal has now stalled.
The Toon have added Fraser, Wilson, Jeff Hendrick, and Mark Gillespie to their side in this transfer window so far, and it will be intriguing to see if Holding follows or not.
