Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been reacting to the latest reported transfer rumour concerning Toon full-back DeAndre Yedlin.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page relaying news originally published by Sky Sports.
They claimed (13.32) that Yedlin is “close” to joining Turkish outfit Besiktas, with talks said to be taking place over a free transfer for the defender, despite him still having a year left on his contract at the Tyneside club.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this potential move.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:

Now that this Newcastle news account has relayed this news, this opened the door for lots of Toon fans to have their say on the matter.
A RB who can actually defend would be nice

It appears that this group of Newcastle fans would be quite pleased if Yedlin leaves the club in the coming weeks.
However, in response to their tweet, @NUFC360 quoted a tweet from Toon journalist Chris Waugh, who relayed Steve Bruce’s comments on the matter when asked about it in his recent press conference.
Bruce claimed that this rumour is “pure speculation” at this moment in time, so maybe these Newcastle fans should not get their hopes up about a potential departure for Yedlin just yet.
