Many Newcastle United supporters have flocked to Twitter in order to respond to a post from @NUFC360 which relays a report from The Guardian regarding the controversial proposed takeover of the club by the Saudi-backed consortium.
According to the publication, ‘discreet talks have continued in the hope of reviving a controversial deal understood to be supported by the British government.’ Despite the consortium pulling out of the deal at the end of July, the debate around how the proposed takeover was handled by the Premier League continues with the Magpies accusing the decision-makers as having acted inappropriately.
Here is how a sample of the St. James’ Park faithful have responded to the post on social media.

The British government is a huge supporter of Saudi Arabia and i am sure the takeover will definitely go through. We just neeed to be patient. And i think everything will be resolved by January

Do you think the Saudi-backed takeover could still go through?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Newcastle supporters feel the takeover could still be completed in the future. They continued to make their feelings known in the replies.
If Richard masters won’t listen to the UK government then there should be a criminal investigation carried out.

According to The Guardian’s report, the club’s statement is a ‘declaration of war’ and we suspect this saga will rumble on for a while yet.
