A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Lee Ryder that contains comments from Steve Bruce after the Toon snatched a draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the last minute.
Newcastle managed just one shot on target and scored from it as Eric Dier was penalised for handball, and Callum Wilson slotted the penalty beyond Hugo Lloris to steal a point.
After the game, Bruce praised Karl Darlow and claimed that he and the handball decision got his side a point, but he also claimed that in the second half, Newcastle were a “threat“.
This has annoyed these Toon fans who can’t believe what Bruce is saying.
Are you baffled by these comments?
Yes, was he watching the same game?
No, he is right
Threat. We’ve had 2 shots on target from open play in 3 games. 0 in the last 2 . Threat ???

Was he watching the same game? We didnt pose any threat hence why we had 1 shot on target and that was a penalty! I should be ecstatic about this point but this was horrific! We just humped it long and hoped for the best! I do not know how spurs did not hammer us!

The Toon managed just six shots in the whole game and scored from their only shot on target, so it seems odd that Bruce claimed his side were a threat.
Darlow picked up a 10/10 rating from The Chronicle for his display, so that shows just how good the former Nottingham Forest man was and how important he was to the Toon leaving North London with anything.
This post continued to draw the attention of these Toon fans who were fuming.
Dear me ! ? I want him sacked.

Very lucky Mr Bruce

We posed no threat at all apart from the cheap penalty

Threat ….? Is he watching a different game ?

Newcastle now have options in many forward positions, but in three Premier League games, they have managed just three shots on target but have scored with every single one.
That has seen the Toon pick up four points, but surely something will have to change in the coming weeks as it seems unlikely that Newcastle will keep up their conversion rate of shots on target to goals.
Certainly, Bruce’s comments that the Toon were a threat against Spurs seem bizarre, considering they managed just that one shot on target, and it has clearly annoyed these Newcastle fans.
