To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

One of the topics that he discussed was transfers and, in particular, Ryan Fraser, who has is thought to have held discussions with the Toon.

However, the point that Ryder focused on was the fact that the Toon were waiting for Fraser to make a decision.

It seems as if Ryder thinks that Fraser might be waiting for other offers rather than move to Tyneside even though the Toon have an offer on the table.

He said: “I think we’re learning a lot about Ryan Fraser in the last couple of days that he’s very stubborn in his own mind, he’s already been made an offer by Newcastle, that’s on the table, they’re waiting for an answer.

“They definitely want him, does he definitely want to come to Newcastle? That’s what he’s mulling over at this moment in time.

“He’s been linked with a lot of clubs; we’re not 100% sure on which ones are concrete at the moment.

“Are other clubs waiting to move players on, or perhaps is he a second choice of somebody, and he’s waiting to see if they want to sign [him]?

“I’m sure he’d be more than welcome at Newcastle by the fans, by the club, but at the end of the day, he’s the one keeping them waiting. So he’s obviously got a few options.”

Do you think Newcastle will sign Fraser?

TIF Thoughts…

The 26-year-old was said to be keen on joining Newcastle in order to be closer to his family in Scotland, but as of yet, no agreement has been reached between the club and the player.

The Toon are also working on a deal for Fraser’s former teammate Callum Wilson, but Aston Villa have already had a bid rejected for the England international, so you would think the Toon might have to act quickly on that one.

However, if the Toon could get Fraser and Wilson in the same team together, then they would have two players who have played 119 games with each other, leading to 17 joint goal contributions.

Despite this, though, Ryder thinks Fraser might be waiting for other offers, which could be a problem for Steve Bruce as he looks to bolster his squad. Indeed, Fraser does appear to have alternative options, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie more recently suggesting that the midfielder is set for face-to-face talks with Bruce and is ‘leaning towards’ a Newcastle move, despite being undecided as to where his future lies.

It will be interesting to see if the Toon sign Fraser, or if he decides to move somewhere else.
